Part 5 of a 5 Part Series for Service-Based Solopreneurs, Freelancers and Consultants
Did you know that by simply planning, you are 43% MORE LIKELY to make your BIG goals happen?
And by “happen,” I mean making your BIG goals REAL. TANGIBLE. FEELABLE.
Because what gets planned, gets your time, attention and focus.
But be honest. Do you have a real plan in place that clearly defines the steps you need to take and when?
Or do you rely on hoping, wishing or waiting for the right time or the perfect circumstances to take action?
If this is you, you’re not alone. Planning can feel daunting especially if your BIG goals seem out of reach or out of your comfort zone.
This leads to sucky thing #5 that keeps smart women from getting what they want.
Thing #5: You don’t plan for the REAL, TANGIBLE, FEELABLE
There’s a simple trick for mapping out your plan of doable action steps so you get what you want (aka make more money, attract the best clients, have more free time).
While it’s simple, it’s not always easy or fun.
But if you use this trick, you’ll have a clear plan of actions to take that deliver REAL, TANGIBLE, FEELABE results!
Take your big goals and break them down into small, doable action steps you can take over a set period of time.
A weekly plan of action steps is what makes goals turn into the real, tangible and feelable. And it’s the thing most business owners skip.
If you want to build positive momentum fast, carve out time to map out clear, focused steps so you make progress every day.
Here’s how it works:
#1: Take one of your top three goals and work backwards
- Write down the 5-6 main things you’ll need to do to reach that big goal
- Now, take each main point and break it down even further.
- You want to reach a point where the tasks feel easy and doable and something you can accomplish in an hour or a day.
#2: Schedule time to take action
What gets scheduled, gets done. So set time aside each week to work on your small, doable tasks.
#3: Do the tasks at the scheduled time
You might be tempted to make this task time negotiable, meaning allowing clients, family members or your own whims to take precedence. Don’t make this mistake. Keep the promises you make to yourself. Honor the commitments you set to work on the things that really matter. Do the things you planned and scheduled.
Remember, you don’t need to have all of the answers or know all of the steps. You just need to start. Do the things you know you need to do at the time you planned to do them.
And don’t fret about getting all of the steps “right” or taking them in the “right” order.
As you take each small, doable step over time, you’ll see progress and you’ll know what needs to happen next.
REAL, FEELABLE, TANGIBLE is the result of planning for success and scheduling time to take action.
Do this and you’ll be BLOWN AWAY by your results!!
